Why Otters?

Same Team, Different Homes

Like sea otters who coordinate perfectly to care for their pups, separated parents can work as a team while maintaining separate lives. Different homes doesn't mean different goals - your children's well-being comes first.

Our platform automates the practical side of co-parenting, letting you focus on creating a loving, stable environment in both homes. Because emotionally healthy kids grow up to be confident, resilient adults.

Harmony Through Simplicity

Otters keep things simple - they coordinate naturally without unnecessary complexity. That's what OurOtters brings to co-parenting: streamlined communication and automated coordination that helps maintain harmony between homes.

When parents communicate effectively and work together smoothly, children feel secure and loved in both homes. No tension, no stress - just two stable environments where kids can thrive.

Our Story

The idea for OurOtters was born during founder Daniel Shanklin's visit to the Georgia Aquarium. Watching the peaceful, graceful movements of the otters, he was struck by how naturally they coordinated their activities - a stark contrast to the complexities of human co-parenting.

Together with Taylor Wilson, founder of Barlele.com, they're channeling their own co-parenting experiences into building OurOtters - transforming the challenges they faced into solutions that help other co-parents navigate these waters more smoothly.
